🚀 Getting Started

How do I create my first sale?
Navigate to POS Terminal from the sidebar. Search for or select products, adjust quantities, select a customer (or use Walk-in), choose a payment method, and click Checkout. It's that simple!
How do I add products?
Go to Products → click + Add Product. Fill in the name, sell price, cost price, category, and initial stock quantity. You can also set a max discount per product to control staff pricing.
How do I set up my business profile?
Go to SettingsBusiness Profile tab. Enter your business name, tagline, address, phone, email, and upload your logo. This info appears on all receipts and printed reports.

💰 Sales & Payments

What payment methods are supported?
SimplePOS supports Cash, M-Pesa, Card, and Credit/Tab payments. You can enable or disable methods in Settings → Payment Methods.
How do item-level discounts work?
In the POS terminal, each item in the cart has a discount field. Enter the discount per unit (in KES). The system validates against the product's Max Discount and the global Allow Below Cost setting.
How do I void or refund a sale?
Go to Sales history, find the sale, and click the void/refund button. Only admins can void sales (controlled by role permissions).

📊 Reports & Analytics

How do I export reports?
Each report section has 📥 CSV and 🖨️ Print buttons. Click 📋 View All to see the full dataset, then export or print from there. CSV files open in Excel.
What insights do the reports provide?
Reports include: revenue trends, product performance with profit margins, staff rankings, customer behaviour patterns, demand heatmaps (hourly and day-of-week), stock analysis, and expense tracking.

👥 Users & Roles

What are roles?
Roles define what each user can access. SimplePOS comes with Admin and Sales Staff roles by default. Admins can create custom roles with specific permissions via Roles in the sidebar.
How many users can I add?
The free tier allows 1 user. Business plans support up to 10 users. Each user gets their own login and sales are tracked per staff member.
